today a special snorkeling trip was planned for us so we all got to take a day off from the hospital. It started being a gorgeous, sunny day on the water. We sailed towards an island where they would be bbquing fresh fish and veggies for us, and then we would be going to a sandbar in the middle of the ocean to snorkel. On the way out we were able to lay on the top of the boat and soak up the sun, however as we were eating lunch on the beach, a storm rolled in. We all had to get in the boat, they put tarps on either side of us (that didnt stop the water at all), and we were pelted by rain drops. The boat almost got beached, but luckily a ton of locals were on the beach and were able to help us. The boat nearly capsized more than once, an experience that was terrifying at the time, but a good memory none the less.
Back to the hospital tomorrow-- excited for routine and to learn more.
